Itinerary
[Day 01]
Arrival in Varanasi
On your first day, welcome to Varanasi, North India's oldest city. After checking into a hotel, take some time to relax. In the afternoon, visit Sarnath, where Buddha is supposed to have delivered his first sermon. After that, visit the Sarnath Museum, Chaukhandi Stupa, and Dhamek Stupa. Return to Varanasi at night. Stay the night in Varanasi.
[Day 02]
Varanasi to Bodh Gaya
The following day, leave Varanasi and drive to Bodh Gaya, which should take about five to six hours. Check into your hotel as quickly as possible, and then relax for a while. Visit the Mahabodhi Temple, where the Buddha achieved enlightenment under the Bodhi tree. Spend some time meditating and visiting the temple while you're here. There will be accommodations at a Bodh Gaya hotel.
[Day 03]
Bodh Gaya Sightseeing
The next day, explore the surrounding area of Bodh Gaya. Honor the Great Buddha Statue, several temples from various countries, and Sujata Garden, where Sujata presented Buddha with Kheer. Return to the Mahabodhi Temple in the evening for meditation. Spend the night at Bodhgaya.
[Day 04]
Bodh Gaya to Rajgir and Nalanda
It will take approximately two hours to drive from Bodh Gaya to Rajgir. To appreciate the significance of this site, go to Griddhakuta Hill (Vulture's Peak), where Buddha delivered several significant discourses. Explore the excavation sites of the Japanese Peace Pagoda and Venuvana Vihara. Continue to Nalanda, which is about an hour's drive away, to see the University of Nalanda's remnants. We will go on to Patna from here and spend the night.
[Day 05]
Patna to Kushinagar via Vaishali
Leave Patna and continue on to Vaishali, the day's goal, which is approximately four to five hours from Rajgir. See the Buddhist Stupa, the Ashokan Pillar, and the ruins of an ancient monastery. Explore a place in the Vaishali region that has historical significance for Buddha. Proceed on the journey from Vaishali to Kushinagar, which takes about six hours. As soon as you arrive, check into the hotel you have booked. Visit the Ramabhar Stupa, the site of the Buddha's cremation, and the Mahaparinirvana Temple, which houses a statue of the Buddha reclining. As the day comes to an end, consider the Buddha's words. Spend the night at Kushinagar.
[Day 06]
Kushinagar to Lumbini
The following day, proceed to Lumbini. The drive would take about four to five hours. After you have completed all immigration and emigration formalities, proceed to your hotel. See the Maya Devi Temple, which many assume to be Buddha's birthplace, as well as the Sacred Garden, which houses various monasteries and the Ashokan Pillar. Spend the night at Lumbini.
[Day 07]
Lumbini to Sravasti
After a good night's sleep, you'll wake up to a beautiful dawn in Lumbini. After breakfast, we'll head to Sravasti. The drive to Sravasti will take about four hours. When you arrive, you'll stop for a delicious meal. After that, you can tour the region and visit the Sahet Market. Following that, you will proceed to your hotel, eat dinner, and then retire for the night.
[Day 08]
Sravasti to Varanasi
The tour is set to end on this day. You'll have a fantastic day once you get up and start eating breakfast. After breakfast, begin the eight to nine-hour drive back to Varanasi. Because you will arrive in Varanasi in the evening, you can either continue your journey or, if required, spend the night there, bringing the trip to an end.
